You can judge a business by the company it keeps. We've built unique relationships with Google and Urchin and strategic partnerships with GeoTrust and Microsoft.

We host websites and email for 18,000 Australian businesses. We've grown by listening to them and building our company around their needs. We understand how to help you run a website that will make or save your business money.

More often than not, businesses will put us in touch with their developers and we've built relationships with literally thousands. That means when you call, our staff will speak your language.

Optus provides 100 Mb of pure, dedicated bandwidth to our private, on-site data centre which is equipped with raised floors, environmental monitoring and UPS. A serviced, on-site diesel generator provides backup power.

We operate a fully redundant internal network, from our switching and routing equipment right down to clustered web, email and ftp servers. It really means something when we guarantee our service.
Version 2.5.1 of WordPress is now available. It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. We recommend everyone update immediately, particularly if your blog has open registration. The vulnerability is not public but it will be shortly.

In addition to the security fix, 2.5.1 contains many bug fixes. If you are interested only in the security fixes, you can download these corrected copies of wp-includes/pluggable.php, wp-admin/includes/media.php, and wp-admin/media.php. Replace your existing copies of these files with these new copies.

If you download the entire 2.5.1 release, you will be getting over 70 other fixes. 2.5.1 focuses on fixing the most annoying bugs and improving performance. Here are some highlights:

Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.

Better performance for those who have many categories

Media Uploader fixes

An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7

Widget Administration fixes

Various usability improvements

Layout fixes for IE

Secret lives of blogs

Since 2.5 your
wp-config.php
file allows a new constant called
SECRET_KEY
which basically is meant to introduce a little permanent randomness into the cryptographic functions used for cookies in WordPress. You can visit this link we set up to get a unique secret key for your config file. (It’s unique and random on every page load.) Having this line in your config file helps secure your blog.

There are some good point to update to v2.3 as following:

1. Posts are easier to manage in the admin section. You can search by status, date, author, category or simply enter a search term. This I love.

2. Built in tagging. This is a brilliant update that has been made. I love tagging and this makes it doable right there in your post editor.

3. Plugin updates. These have become automated. Now before you get all happy about that, it simply means that you are automatically told when a new update is available for your installed plugins. This might not seem like a great improvement, but wow what a time-saver.

After I tried it, I decided not update to wordpress for database problem. Because I test so many plugins in v2.2, if I update to v2.3

all the plugins should be test again!!!

Be careful to use open source program.

It really benefit some not English Speaking Blogger, because it can allow you make some post/page use English title (Google friendly), while display non-English character title when surfing.
It is a must-have plugin for non-English people.

for example:

if you do not have All-in-one-seo，

your title like that: %E7%99%BE%E5%BA%A6%E5%92%8Cgoogle%E4%B9%B1%E7%A0%81%E7%97%85%E6%AF%92%E

so, you can install the All-in-one-seo plugin, use English as the Wordpress Title, and set All-in-one-seo-pack Title as other character you want,

("rewrite_title" option should set to ON)

http://wp.uberdose.com/2007/06/16/all-in-one-seo-pack-goes-china/
